Where We Go and What We Do
While still living "on mission" every day where we are, Lean In Ministries has the privilege, as well as calling, to train, equip and send short-term mission teams to both Peru and South Asia. In addition to such trips, we also value being able to support the gospel work that takes place in such places, even when we are not physically present. "And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?' Then I said, 'Here I am! Send me.'" Isaiah 6:8
Peru
The Urarina People and the city of Iquitos
Whether we are deep in the Amazon jungle or serving in the city of Iquitos, our purpose and focus is the same . . . evangelism and discipleship. Twice a year we travel deep into the jungle to reach the Urarina, an indigenous tribe that lives along the Chambira River, a tributary of the Amazon. We share the gospel, disciple and encourage existing believers, and engage with the children through Bible stories and play and the women through teaching times and trading. Once a year we serve in the city of Iquitos, located on the Amazon River. Evangelism and discipleship takes place as we serve within the following ministries: children's, drug hole, prison, rehabilitation house, community outreach, children's home support, and more. South Asia
Evangelism and discipleship are our two mission purposes when serving in South Asia. We serve alongside a missions catalyst who runs an English school in a very impoverished area. He and his school not only minister to the students but also to their families and surrounding indigenous population and villages. Teams also serve alongside a church planter and pastor living in a remote area of south Asia. He currently pastors four churches, trains up leaders, equips disciples, and runs a small English school that serves a very impoverished area that has no access to education.
